Jane A. Beard seeks review of an unpublished court of appeals decision affirming the summary judgment entered by the Circuit Court for La Crosse County, Michael J. Mulroy, Judge, which dismissed her negligence suit against The La Crosse Tribune, Lee Enterprises, Inc., which owns the newspaper, and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, their insurer (collectively "The Tribune"). On appeal, Beard argues that Anthony Kropelin, a minor at the time, was employed by The Tribune and that he was working in a street trade, as defined under Wis. Stat. 103.21(1)(1991-92), during prohibited hours when he was involved in a head-on collision that killed Beards husband, Charles. Beard contends that as Anthonys employer, The Tribune is absolutely liable for allowing him to work in violation of the child labor laws.
